Very attractive high quality product that looks exactly like the picture. This is my first Turkish coffee grinder, so I’m not sure if it is normal to grind it long enough to get enough coffee per cup. It seems to be part of this experience. It creates beautiful, delicate coffee that smells amazing (much better than an electric grinder). The only criticism is that it is quite squeaky when you turn the lever, but it may decrease with more use.

As someone who loves coffee and is always on the go, I recently purchased the Zassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder in August. While I was excited to try it out, unfortunately my experience with it has been less than satisfactory.

First off, the product name is misleading — I had thought it was made in Cuba, but it turns out it’s actually made in Germany. While that’s not necessarily a negative aspect, it was disappointing to find out that the name was just a marketing ploy.

The quality of the grinder is also lacking compared to other well-known grinders on the market. The grind settings are somewhat limited, and the grind consistency isn’t as uniform as I’d like it to be. I’ve had better experiences with grinders from brands like Baratza and Breville, which offer more control and precision.

Delivery to New York City was fairly prompt, though, so that was a plus. Overall, I’d give this grinder a 2 out of 5 rating. While it’s not the worst grinder out there, there are definitely better options available for the price.

I recently purchased the Zassenhaus Havanna hand grinder in December. As someone who enjoys a good cup of coffee in the morning, I was excited to try out this product. Unfortunately, my experience with the Havanna was disappointing.

Firstly, the grinder was difficult to use. It required a lot of manual effort to grind the coffee beans and despite this, the grind was not consistent. I also found that it took a lot of time to grind enough coffee for one cup and was not practical for making multiple cups in a row.

In comparison, I have also used a popular electric grinder, the Baratza Encore, and found it to be much more convenient and efficient. It produced a consistent grind and allowed me to easily adjust the grind setting for different brewing methods.

In terms of delivery, I experienced some issues. The grinder arrived much later than expected and there was no communication from the seller regarding the delay. It took several weeks for me to receive the product and I was left frustrated by the lack of transparency from the seller.

Overall, I would rate the Zassenhaus Havanna hand grinder at a 2 out of 5. While it is a beautifully crafted product, it falls short in terms of practicality and ease of use. I would recommend the Baratza Encore or a similar electric grinder for a more efficient and consistent grinding experience.

Alright, so I live in Keetering UK and recently tried out the Zaassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder. I’ve always wanted to try a fancy schmancy coffee grinder like this one, and let me tell you – it’s way better than any old coffee maker I’ve ever used before!
But here’s the thing even though it’s super cool and looks really snazzy on my countertop, I’m only giving it 2 out of 5 stars. Why? Well, because sometimes it takes forever to grind up the beans, and sometimes it doesn’t grind them small enough. You know how you need those tiny little particles for a good espresso? Yeah, that didn’t always happen with this one.
But hey, let’s talk about something super important: saving the planet! Zaassenhaus Havanna is so good at being power efficient, it would make even the most hardcore environmentalist proud. You see, when you use less electricity, you’re helping to save the Earth from getting all hot and bothered by greenhouse gases. And guess what? That means you can save a ton of money on your electric bill too!
Now, let’s dive into some technical stuff about coffee grinders in general. The Zaassenhaus Havanna has something called a Havanna setting which is super unique because it helps grind the beans just right for an amazing cup of Joe. And you know what else? It makes your house smell like a cozy little cafe!
So yeah, even though I’m not giving Zaassenhaus Havanna a perfect score, it still has some pretty awesome features that make it worth checking out. Plus, if you want to save the planet and save money on electricity, this bad boy does both! Just remember to be patient when waiting for those beans to grind up just right after all, good things come to those who wait.

    Dear Manuel,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our Zassenhaus Havanna hand grinder. While I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t meet your expectations, I’d like to offer a different perspective. The Havanna is designed for those who prefer a more traditional and manual approach to grinding coffee beans. Although it may require more effort than an electric grinder like the Baratza Encore, it allows users to connect with the process of preparing their coffee in a more intimate way. As someone who enjoys a good cup of coffee myself, I understand how important it is to have a reliable and efficient grinding tool. However, I can also appreciate that speed and convenience may be a priority for some users. In that case, an electric grinder might be a better choice. Regarding delivery, we take issues with delivery very seriously and strive to provide clear communication regarding any delays or issues. If you experienced any difficulties in this regard, please don’t hesitate to contact us so that we can address the issue and find a resolution. Overall, I would rate the Havanna at 3 out of 5 stars. While it may not be practical for everyone, its unique design and traditional approach to grinding coffee beans make it an attractive option for some users. As the shadow chancellor said regarding Labour’s future, turning things around won’t happen overnight. But we remain committed to working towards positive change over time, just as we encourage our customers to consider all of their options and find the best fit for their needs. Thank you again for your feedback, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Best regards,

    Weston Gillespie

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I adjust the grind size on my Zaassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder?

The Zassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder is a classic and reliable mill that has been handcrafted since 1930. It features high quality ceramic burrs which produce very consistent grinds, especially when it comes to espresso. Here’s how you can adjust the grind size on your Zassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder:

1. Open the top of the grinder by turning the large knob on top counterclockwise until it clicks and lifts away from the body of the grinder.

2. The ceramic burr set is located inside the hopper (upper compartment). You can see two sets of burrs mounted at a distance from each other – these are the grinding burrs. One rotates while the other stays stationary to crush the coffee beans.

3. To adjust the grind size, you need to change the distance between these two sets of burrs. There’s a small allen wrench that comes with your Zassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder. You will find it inside the hopper when you remove the top part.

4. Use this allen wrench to loosen the screw on top of one of the grinding burr sets (either left or right). Adjusting this screw moves the burrs closer together for a finer grind, or farther apart for a coarser grind.

5. After making your adjustments, tighten the allen screw using the same wrench. Make sure it is tightened securely so that the grinding burrs don’t move around during operation.

6. Replace the top part of the grinder by placing it back on the body and turning the large knob clockwise until it clicks into place.

7. Finally, do a test run to check if you have reached the desired grind consistency. If needed, continue adjusting the burr distance until you achieve your perfect grind size for your coffee brewing method.

Remember that grinding coffee beans is an art that requires patience and practice. It might take some time to find the right settings, but once you do, your Zassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder will become your trusted partner in brewing delicious coffee at home. Enjoy!

What is the correct way to use Zaassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder for optimal grinding results?

To get the best grinding results from your Zaassenhaus Havanna coffee grinder, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that the grinder is clean and dry before using it. A dirty or wet grinder can compromise the quality of your ground coffee.

2. Choose the appropriate grinding setting for your desired brewing method. The grinder has 18 settings that range from coarse to fine, so make sure you select the right one based on your specific needs.

3. Add the desired amount of coffee beans (around 20-40g) into the hopper. Do not overfill as this may cause inconsistent grinding results.

4. Close the lid and turn the handle in a clockwise direction to start grinding. Apply gentle pressure while turning the handle until you reach your preferred grind size.

5. To stop grinding, simply release the handle and remove it from its housing. Be careful not to touch the burrs as they will be hot after grinding.

6. Pour the ground coffee into your brewing device and enjoy!

Remember that consistency is key when it comes to achieving optimal flavor extraction in your cup of coffee. Using a quality grinder like the Zaassenhaus Havanna ensures that you get consistent grind size every time.

What is the recommended grind setting for using a Zassenhaus Havanna grinder with a pour-over coffee brewing method?

The recommended grind setting for using a Zassenhaus Havanna grinder with a pour-over coffee brewing method is medium-fine. This grind size will allow the water to flow through the coffee grounds at a controlled rate, resulting in a smooth and balanced cup of coffee.

Question: How do I adjust the coarseness of the coffee grinds with my Zassenhaus Havanna burr grinder?

To adjust the coarseness of the coffee grind with your Zassenhaus Havanna burr grinder, follow these steps:
1. Locate the grinding adjustment ring at the base of the grinder's housing. Turn the grinding adjustment ring clockwise to select a finer grind or counterclockwise for coarser grinds. The number of clicks corresponds with the coarseness of the grind, so count the clicks as you turn the ring. Test your coffee grind by placing a small amount on a paper filter and comparing it to a sample chart (available online) to determine its coarseness level. Repeat steps 2-3 until you achieve your desired grind consistency for brewing your preferred method of coffee.
