  1. Tom Tucker

The coffee machine works fine but the description needs to be verified. Marked as a stainless steel coffee maker on the outside is really aluminum, and I’m disappointed because when I was looking for moka pot, I watched some and when I saw stainless steel + dark purple I was delighted. So be careful if you are looking for steel.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I properly clean my Tauruus Italica 6 Cup Moka Pot after use?

Cleaning your Tauruus Italica 6 Cup Moka Pot is simple and straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to clean it properly:

1. Allow the coffee pot to cool completely before attempting to clean it. This prevents burns and ensures that you can handle it safely.
2. Disassemble the pot by unscrewing the top from the bottom. This will give you access to the filter basket and the brew chamber.
3. Empty any remaining coffee grounds from the filter basket. Use a spoon or a small brush to help remove any stubborn grounds if needed.
4. Rinse the filter basket thoroughly under warm running water, making sure to clean all crevices where grounds might have accumulated.
5. Wipe down the inside of the brew chamber with a damp cloth to remove any coffee residue.
6. Place the filter basket back in its place and fill the bottom chamber with warm water.
7. Screw the top and bottom together, then place the Moka Pot on the stovetop over medium-low heat. Let the water heat up until it starts to steam and rise through the pot. This will help to remove any remaining coffee oils or residue from the interior surfaces of the pot.
8. Once the steaming process is complete, turn off the heat and unscrew the top portion of the Moka Pot to release the pressurized steam.
9. Allow the Moka Pot to cool completely before reassembling it.
10. Wipe down the exterior of the pot with a damp cloth if needed, then dry it thoroughly.
11. Your Tauruus Italica 6 Cup Moka Pot is now clean and ready for your next use!

How do I properly clean and maintain my Taurus Italica 6 Cup Moka pot to ensure optimal coffee brewing performance?

Before using the Moka pot for the first time, wash all removable parts (filter basket, funnel, and gasket) with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly. Dry them completely before assembling. After each use, disassemble the Moka pot and rinse all parts with hot water to remove any remaining coffee grounds or oils. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently clean the inside of the pot. To prevent mineral buildup in hard water areas, fill the bottom chamber with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar once a week. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with hot water and drying completely. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring pads that may scratch the pot's surface. Store the Moka pot in a dry place to prevent rust and ensure its longevity. Replace the gasket periodically, as it can wear out over time and affect the brewing process. Taurus recommends replacing the gasket every 12 months or as needed.
