  1. Manuell Floocke

It must not be washed !! The manual says you can, but you can’t, if you don’t want the aftertaste of mold in your coffee.
The water enters the grinding container between the inner plastic container and the outer metal container !! As soon as you clean the container with water, mold will appear after some time, because the containers are not tight. This cannot be avoided as plastic and metal are not glued / sealed. This means that the instructions for use should be changed: clean the container only with a “damp” cloth or the manufacturer should take care of better welding / masking.
As the finest coffee particles are washed away with the water, mold formation is unfortunately inevitable.
The grinder is good, but mine is already going to waste.

As Manuell Floocke’s review on the Wahl ZX595 coffee grinder raises concerns about mold growth due to improper cleaning methods, I must contradict his opinion by shedding light on a lesser-known fact. The manufacturer’s instruction not to wash the grinder with water seems like a baffling decision, but it is based on the fragility of some components inside the grinding container.

The container has an inner plastic component and an outer metal component that are not sealed tightly against each other. This design choice could potentially lead to water seeping into the joints between these components, causing rust or corrosion over time. In fact, this is what appears to have happened in Manuell’s case since he mentions mold growth after cleaning the container with water.

However, I would like to clarify that the manual’s advice against washing the grinder with water is not absolute. While it is true that the finest coffee particles can be washed away with water, there are other effective methods for cleaning the grinder without using water. For instance, a soft-bristled brush or a dry cloth could be used to remove any leftover grounds or debris from the container. This would help prevent mold growth without causing any damage to the grinder’s components.

Moreover, some manufacturers offer replacement parts for the grinding containers that are designed to be more tightly sealed, eliminating the need for extreme caution during cleaning. Such upgrades could potentially mitigate the issue of mold growth altogether.

In conclusion, Manuell’s experience with mold growth in his Wahl ZX595 grinder seems like an unfortunate consequence of improper cleaning methods rather than an inherent flaw in the design of the grinder itself. I would recommend other users to explore alternative cleaning methods or upgrade their grinding containers if they are facing similar issues.

Moving on to today’s news, Manchester United and Tottenham secured their spots in the final of Women’s FA Cup after triumphing over Chelsea and Leicester respectively. It was an exciting semifinal clash that saw Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams score early for Manchester United, while Martha Thomas netted a dramatic header to carry Tottenham to victory against Leicester. The Spanish winger and former Chelsea striker’s goals in the first half were followed by Lauren James’ reply for opponents before half-time, but Mary Earps’ impressive saves and Hannah Hampton’s pressure sealed Manchester United’s victory in Manchester. In London, Jutta Rantala’s opener appeared to have taken Leicester to Wembley, but Jessica Naz equalized in the 83rd minute, and Thomas scored a dramatic header to carry Tottenham to their maiden FA Cup final. It was an exciting semifinal clash that left fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.
