  1. Manuell Floocke

It must not be washed !! The manual says you can, but you can’t, if you don’t want the aftertaste of mold in your coffee.
The water enters the grinding container between the inner plastic container and the outer metal container !! As soon as you clean the container with water, mold will appear after some time, because the containers are not tight. This cannot be avoided as plastic and metal are not glued / sealed. This means that the instructions for use should be changed: clean the container only with a “damp” cloth or the manufacturer should take care of better welding / masking.
As the finest coffee particles are washed away with the water, mold formation is unfortunately inevitable.
The grinder is good, but mine is already going to waste.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question: What is the recommended grind size for espresso using the Wahl ZX595 grinder, and how can I adjust the settings accordingly?

The recommended grind size for espresso using the Wahl ZX595 grinder depends on the specific model of the grinder. However, most espresso grinders are designed to produce a fine grind suitable for espresso brewing. The Wahl ZX595 is an electric hair clipper and trimmer, not an espresso grinder.

If you're looking for an espresso grinder, consider purchasing a dedicated coffee grinder specifically designed for grinding beans to the right consistency for espresso. There are many great options available in different price ranges. Some popular models include the Baratza Virtuoso+, Breville Smart Grinder Pro, and the Rancilio Rocky.

For adjusting the grind size on a coffee grinder, consult your specific model's user manual for instructions on how to change the settings. Most espresso grinders have a dial or switch that allows you to adjust the grind size from coarse to fine. Turning the dial clockwise usually increases the fineness of the grind while turning it counterclockwise makes the grind larger. Experiment with different settings until you find the optimal grind size for your espresso machine and taste preferences.

What is the difference between a conical burr and flat burr coffee grinder for the Wahl ZX595 model?

A conical burr coffee grinder, such as the one used in the Wahl ZX595 model, has a cone-shaped burr that rotates against a flat surface to grind coffee beans. This type of grinder produces a more consistent grind size, which is ideal for brewing methods like drip or pour-over coffee. On the other hand, a flat burr coffee grinder uses two parallel surfaces (flat plates) with teeth on them that rotate against each other to grind coffee beans. This type of grinder may produce a wider range of grind sizes, making it suitable for espresso machines or French presses. However, the consistency in grind size may not be as precise as with a conical burr grinder.

How do I clean and maintain my Wahl ZX595 coffee grinder?

To clean and maintain your Wahl ZX595 Coffee Grinder, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the grinder before cleaning or maintaining it to avoid any accidents. Disassemble the grinder by removing the upper burr, lower burr, hopper, and grinding chamber. Remove coffee grounds from the grinding chamber using a small brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean the hopper thoroughly with warm water and mild soap. Rinse it well and let it dry completely before reassembling. Use a soft-bristled brush to clean the upper burr, making sure to remove any coffee residue. Wipe down the lower burr with a damp cloth to remove any debris. Reassemble the grinder by putting back all the parts in their respective positions. Perform regular maintenance by lubricating the grinder every few months using food-grade oil or silicone spray. Apply a few drops of oil on the upper burr and let it soak for about 10 minutes before wiping off any excess oil with a clean cloth. Check the grinding burrs regularly to ensure they are still sharp and functioning correctly. If needed, replace them following the manufacturer's instructions.

How do I properly clean and maintain my Wahl ZX595 coffee grinder?

Cleaning and maintaining your Wahl ZX595 coffee grinder is crucial to ensure its performance and longevity. Here are the steps to properly clean and maintain it:

1. Unplug the grinder before cleaning to avoid any electrical accidents. Remove the bean hopper by pressing down on the two release tabs and lifting it off the grinder. Empty the ground coffee from the grinding chamber using a brush or a small spatula. Use a dry, clean brush or a damp cloth to gently remove any coffee grounds that have escaped into the inner workings of the grinder. Be sure not to use water directly on the interior parts as it may damage the motor. Clean the bean hopper and lid with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Dry them completely before reassembling. Inspect the grinding burrs for any worn or damaged areas. If you notice any, contact Wahl customer service for replacement parts. Lubricate the grinder's internal components using a light machine oil, following the manufacturer's recommendations for the type and amount of lubricant needed. Reassemble the grinder by placing the bean hopper back on top and making sure it snaps into place securely. Test the grinder by grinding some coffee beans to ensure it's working correctly and the consistency of the grind is as desired. If you notice any inconsistencies, adjust the grinder settings accordingly. By following these steps regularly, you can keep your Wahl ZX595 coffee grinder in optimal condition for a consistent and delicious cup of coffee.
