  1. Gracie

As Gracie, I recently purchased the Premier Housewares Espresso Maker 3 Cup and I have to say I am disappointed with my purchase. While the design is sleek and modern, the functionality of the machine falls short. One major drawback of this espresso maker is that it does not have an integrated coffee grinder. This means that I have to grind my coffee beans separately before each use, which is an inconvenience and makes the process of making espresso take longer.

In addition, the 15.0 cm width of the pot seems unnecessarily large for a 3 cup capacity, and it takes up extra space on my kitchen counter. This is especially frustrating since I was hoping to save space by purchasing a small-scale espresso maker.

Comparing this espresso maker to other known Moka pots, I would say that it does not meet the standards of other brands such as Bialetti and Alessi. In terms of both functionality and design, the Premier Housewares Espresso Maker falls short.

Overall, I would rate this espresso maker a 2 out of 5 stars. While it is affordable, the inconveniences of not having an integrated grinder and a larger width than necessary make it not worth the purchase. Next time, I will invest in a higher quality Moka pot that meets my expectations.

  2. Zayden

I bought the Premier Housewares Espresso Maker 3 Cup in December and have been using it almost every morning since then. As a baggage handler in Alabama, I need a strong cup of espresso to get me going and this Moka pot definitely delivers on that front.

I give it a solid 4 out of 5 rating because it does require some practice to get the perfect brew going. But once you figure out the right grind size and water level, the espresso that comes out of this pot is excellent.

I compared this Moka pot to another popular one that I used to own and the difference is noticeable. The Premier Housewares Espresso Maker 3 Cup has a sturdier build and is easier to handle. The other pot would sometimes burn the coffee if you didn’t take it off the stove quickly enough, but I haven’t had that problem with this one.

One thing to note is that the 0.15 L capacity water tank is on the smaller side, so you’ll have to refill it if you want to make multiple cups. But for me, the 3 cup size is perfect because I usually just make one cup for myself.

Finally, I want to mention the delivery of this Moka pot to Alabama. It actually took longer than expected to arrive, but that was due to weather conditions in the area. The retailer did a great job communicating with me about the delay and I appreciate their efforts to keep me informed.

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase of the Premier Housewares Espresso Maker 3 Cup and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality Moka pot.

Frequently Asked Questions:

"How long should I let the Moka pot steep before plunging the piston for optimal espresso flavor?"

The recommended steeping time for a Moka pot is around 4-5 minutes. This allows enough time for the water to saturate the coffee grounds and extract the desired flavors, but not too long that it results in over-extraction and bitterness.

What is the correct water level for the espresso maker?

The correct water level for an espresso maker should be just below the bottom of the coffee portafilter or basket. This ensures that there is enough water to extract the flavor from the ground coffee, but not so much that it overflows when pressure is applied during brewing.
