  1. Thomas W.

A typical coffee maker for two. The first impression is very good. I’m just a little surprised by the amount of settings on the menu that should be defined before the first use. It’s quite complicated, but for now I’m using factory settings. In addition, what the cup is placed on seems to me quite shoddy.

The product of excellent quality 100% met my expectations

At first, I was very enthusiastic about the buttstock. The espresso tasted great and the machine was easy to clean. But after just three weeks of use, the water pressure dropped sharply and I couldn’t make a decent espresso. Repeated cleaning and descaling did not help either. I wouldn’t buy it anymore!

Assessment of course in this class of devices. Homemade buttstock. Of course, it is more difficult to operate than vending machines. I have the biggest problem with frothing milk, but I will probably learn over time. Programming the water temperature, strainers with two capacities (which may apply to all coffee machines) and measuring the amount of water allow you to prepare most types of basic coffee: expresso, expresso doppio or Ristretto doppio;).
The attached measuring cup works perfectly with a grinder from the same company. On the one hand, narrow width is an advantage, on the other hand a disadvantage (it is impossible to stack two larger cups.
Overall it is heading very well. Express great. I recommend to the undecided. Makes coffee like a barista in a cafe. Not an automatic machine. You have to grind separately in a grinder. (It’s fun for me) The nozzle froths milk nicely. It’s best to buy a small jug with a foaming spout and you can create an Art Cafe. My favorite coffee is delicious flat white.

Oh boy, where do I begin? After my first month of living in Bristol Virginia, I decided it was high time I invested in a decent coffee maker – you know, since all the baristas here look like they just stepped out of a Cormac McCarthy novel. I walked into this shop and saw the DeLonghi DeDica Style EC 685 for a whopping $80.99, which is quite the investment for someone who still can’t figure out how to work their own washing machine.
But let me tell you, this coffee maker has got some serious tricks up its sleeve (or in this case, under it). For one thing, it’s got an impressive 15-bar pump pressure system, which is like having a personal barista who really knows how to pull a shot. And the stainless steel thermal carafe? It makes my old plastic one look like it belongs at a prison cafeteria. Plus, the whole thing is pretty darn stylish – I mean, just check out those sleek curves and shiny chrome accents.
Oh, and did I mention it has a cup warmer? Because, let’s face it, when you’re living in Bristol Virginia, every little bit of warmth helps. So go ahead, make fun of me for spending $80.99 on a coffee maker but at least my morning brew will be damn near perfect.

The DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685 may have caught your eye with its sleek design and impressive list of features, but don’t let its good looks fool you. This coffee maker is far from perfect, and in fact, I would go as far as to say that it’s a complete waste of money.

Firstly, the claims made by Thomas W. about this machine being suitable for two people are utterly false. The reality is that the DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685 produces barely enough coffee to fill one mug, let alone two. I’ve found myself having to refill my cup multiple times just to get a decent amount of caffeine in me.

Secondly, the settings menu on this machine is an absolute nightmare. It’s far too complicated for its own good, and I’m still struggling to figure out how to use half of the functions. The manual that comes with it is useless, and I’ve had to resort to watching YouTube tutorials just to get a basic understanding of how the thing works.

But perhaps the most infuriating aspect of this coffee maker is its sheer lack of quality. The coffee it produces is watery, bitter, and downright unpleasant. I’ve tried adjusting the settings to no avail – it seems that the DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685 is simply incapable of producing a decent cup of coffee.

And let’s not forget about the shoddy construction of this machine. The cup holder, in particular, is a disgrace. It wobbles and rattles every time I place a mug on it, making me doubt whether the machine will even stay upright during use.

But as if all of that wasn’t bad enough, today’s news is only adding to my despair. The forced relocation of Nataliia from Melitopol is yet another blow to the people of Ukraine who are already struggling in the face of Russian aggression. And now, with this coffee maker as my companion, I feel hopelessness and despair wash over me like a tidal wave.

In conclusion, if you’re considering buying the DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685, do yourself a favor and save your money. This machine is an utter disappointment and a waste of resources. Stick to instant coffee or invest in a reliable brand that won’t leave you feeling hopeless and despairing every time you take a sip.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the recommended water temperature for brewing coffee with the DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685 espresso machine, and how can I adjust it if necessary?

The recommended water temperature for brewing coffee with the DeLonghi DeNivia Dedica Style EC 685 espresso machine is around 190-205°F (88-96°C). The machine should maintain this range automatically, but if you notice that the water temperature isn't within this range, there are a few things you can try:

1. Check the water filter: If your machine uses a built-in water filter, make sure it is clean and functioning properly. A clogged or malfunctioning filter can cause issues with water temperature regulation.

2. Clean the heating element: Over time, mineral deposits from hard water can build up on the heating element, which may affect its ability to maintain optimal temperatures. You can try descaling your machine using a specialized descaling solution designed for espresso machines.

3. Contact customer support: If you've tried these steps and still have trouble with the water temperature, it might be worth reaching out to DeLonghi's customer support team. They can provide additional troubleshooting tips or advise on whether a repair or replacement may be necessary.

What is the recommended descaling process for the De'Longhi Dedica Style EC685 espresso machine?

The recommended descaling process for the De'Longhi DeNira and Dedica Style EC685 espresso machines is as follows:
1. Purchase a descaling solution specifically designed for use with coffee machines, such as the De'Longhi Descaler or any other brand's equivalent product.
2. Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source.
3. Remove the water tank, drip tray, and any other removable parts.
4. Fill the water tank with descaling solution until it reaches the maximum fill line. Make sure not to exceed this limit, as too much solution can damage the machine.
5. Place the water tank back into its position and plug in the machine.
6. Turn on the machine and wait for it to heat up. Once heated, run a full cycle of descaling solution through the machine by selecting the highest brewing volume setting (e.g., 10 cups). Discard the contents after completing this step.
7. Repeat steps 5-6 two more times with fresh descaling solution, ensuring that you have used up all of the solution in the tank.
8. After completing the third cycle, run at least four cycles of clean water through the machine to rinse out any remaining descaling solution. Discard this water as well.
9. Once the machine has been thoroughly rinsed, allow it to cool down completely before refilling it with fresh water and resuming regular use.
Note: It is essential to perform this descaling process regularly (every 3-6 months) to maintain optimal performance and extend the life of your De'Longhi espresso machine.
