  1. Katerin G.

The previous model had automatic shutdown, which is missing in this model. Don’t forget to turn off the jug !!! Unfortunately, the durability is rather poor. The previous lasted 5 years, this one broke after a year.

I recently purchased the Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup and have been very satisfied with my purchase. As a doctor with a busy schedule, I appreciate the convenience of an electric Moka pot. It brews a consistent and delicious cup of coffee, and the compact size is perfect for my small kitchen.

One thing to note is that this particular Moka pot does not have an integrated frother, which I didn’t mind since I have a separate milk frother. However, if you’re looking for an all-in-one option, this might not be the best choice for you.

In comparison to my previous Moka pot, the Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup has been a significant upgrade. The electric feature eliminates the need for a stove, and it brews coffee faster. Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

The delivery of this Moka pot to St. Louis was quick and hassle-free. I purchased it online during a sale in February, and it arrived within a week. The purchase was a bit impulsive, as I had been eyeing this Moka pot for a while but finally decided to splurge during the sale. I’m glad that I did, as it has become a daily staple in my morning routine.

Another popular Moka pot that I’ve used is the classic Bialetti Moka pot. While both products are of similar quality and produce great coffee, the main difference is the product type. The Bialetti Moka Elettrika is electric, whereas the classic Bialetti Moka pot is stovetop. Choosing between the two really depends on personal preferences and specific needs. If you’re looking for a traditional, hands-on coffee-making experience, the classic Bialetti Moka pot might be a better fit. However, if you’re short on time and want a more convenient option, the Bialetti Moka Elettrika is definitely worth considering.

How do I properly clean and maintain my Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup Moka pot?

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup Moka pot, here are some simple cleaning and maintenance tips:

1. Clean after each use: Always clean the Moka pot thoroughly after each use to prevent any buildup or residue from accumulating inside. This will also help prevent any unwanted flavors from affecting future brews. Use a soft sponge or cloth with warm water and mild detergent, if necessary, to gently clean both the upper and lower chambers of the Moka pot. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing. Descaling: If you notice any mineral buildup, calcium deposits or limescale inside your Moka pot, it's time to descale. This process involves removing any accumulated minerals and hard water deposits that can affect the taste of your coffee and impair the functionality of your Moka pot over time. To descale, fill the lower chamber with equal parts white vinegar and water and run a brewing cycle as usual. Discard the resulting coffee and rinse thoroughly with clean water several times to remove any remaining vinegar. Repeat this process every 2-3 months, depending on how hard your water is. Store properly: Always store your Moka pot in a dry place, away from moisture or humidity that can promote mold growth. If you're not using the Moka pot for an extended period of time, remove the filter basket and store it separately to prevent any residual coffee oils from affecting future brews. Replace parts as needed: Over time, some components of your Moka pot may wear out or become damaged, such as the gasket or filter basket. Inspect these parts regularly for signs of wear or damage and replace them as necessary to ensure optimal performance and prevent any leaks or spills during brewing.

How do I properly clean and maintain my Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup coffee maker?

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Bialetti Moka Elettrika 2 Cup coffee maker, it is essential to follow a few simple cleaning and maintenance procedures. Here's how you can do it:

1. Cleaning after each use:
After brewing coffee, disassemble the filter basket, gasket, and funnel from the base. Rinse them thoroughly under running water to remove any residual coffee grounds or oils. Dry all parts completely before reassembling. Deep cleaning:
To ensure that your Moka Elettrika remains in top condition, you should perform a deep cleaning every two weeks. Fill the base with equal parts of water and white vinegar (or lemon juice), and brew a cycle as usual. Discard the resulting coffee and rinse all parts thoroughly under running water before drying completely. Descaling:
If your water supply contains high levels of mineral content, it is recommended to descale your Moka Elettrika every three months. Discard the resulting coffee and rinse all parts thoroughly under running water before drying completely. Storage:
When not in use, store your Moka Elettrika in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of it to prevent damage to the filter basket and gasket.

My coffee is always bitter, what's wrong with my Moka pot?

If the water in your Moka pot is not hot enough, it won't extract the flavors and oils from the coffee grounds properly, resulting in a bitter taste. Make sure your Moka pot is at a rolling boil before adding the coffee grounds. Grind size**: The grind of your coffee beans might be too fine, which can cause the water to pass through too quickly, leading to over-extraction and bitterness. Try using a slightly coarser grind next time. Coffee-to-water ratio**: If you're using too much coffee relative to the amount of water, it can result in a bitter taste. Experiment with different ratios to find the perfect balance for your Moka pot. Old or stale coffee beans**: Using old or stale coffee beans can contribute to a bitter flavor. Try freshening up your bean supply and see if that makes a difference. Scale buildup**: Scale, mineral deposits, and old coffee oils can accumulate in your Moka pot over time, affecting the taste of your coffee. Descale your Moka pot regularly with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to remove any built-up residue. Moka pot maintenance**: Make sure you're cleaning your Moka pot properly after each use. Any residue or debris can affect the flavor of your coffee. If none of these suggestions help, it's possible that there's an issue with your Moka pot itself, such as a clogged air valve or a worn-out gasket. In this case, you might need to replace your Moka pot or have it serviced by the manufacturer.
